Computer scicentis PD had yo-yoed in weight his whole life.
The 31-year-old Senior Programmer would lose weight, but could never keep it off.
When he came to BMF Hyde Park, he was 109 kg – the heaviest he had ever been.
But working consistently and methodically with our team helped him radically transform his body and his health – losing 27kg.

"Historically, I’ve gone for extreme approaches, like most people tend to do; very low-calorie, high exercise, then the traditional rebound. I’ve probably done that 5-6 times in my life.
I’ve gone through swings of three to four stone a couple of times, and, obviously, I was never able to keep it off because I wasn’t addressing the fundamentals."

I’ve always been a bit intimidated in gyms, watching myself sweat in the mirror and avoiding eye contact with everyone. BMF is nothing like that - I love it. We all get muddy and exhausted, there’s no judgement and because we are all running around the park together it’s really sociable and I’ve made some great friends. Running has been my hobby but I’ve always been a plodder - BMF has pushed me and I’ve massively improved my pace and endurance. The instructors are fantastic and accommodate all abilities - I couldn’t recommend the classes more.
Love, love, love Hyde Park BMF. I've participated in every kind of sport, from calisthenics to climbing and none get you as fit as Hyde Park BMF. Because we workout as a group, we're far more motivated than any class in a gym. The community is super strong, diverse and welcoming. In a big, bustling city, it really gives a sense of belonging. I’m Andy Smith, a 60 year old Chartered Surveyor I’ve been a member at BMF Hyde Park since 2010.
I joined way back then to get fit ahead of The Four Peaks Challenge and enjoyed it so much that I keep going! It’s a great way to get fit and then maintain fitness.
More importantly for me, at the age of 50 I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetes and prostate cancer. keeping fit is essential for managing the condition's. I am very much encouraged to maintain my health and fitness.
For me, this is a great way to exercise and maintain health and it works! At my last diabetes review I was congratulated on my fitness levels which have kept my diabetes under control without medication. I said in reply keeping fit is easy if you have fun doing it and you get that with BMF.
I joined BMF after Covid lockdown. I had done a lot of walking in the Park and saw a group of people who looked like they were having fun exercising. I joined up and quickly got addicted!
BMF has helped me physically get stronger and build my mental resilience. After a long day in the office, doing a class in the outdoors helps me to destress and reenergises me.
BMF Hyde Park is also an amazing community of people and a key part of my social life in London. This has been really important for me as a newbie to London.
I really encourage anyone who wants to get fit and have a little fun along the way to join up. Even when it is raining, exercising in the fresh air with friends is (mostly) enjoyable!
